Environmental Policy

For over more than 48 years of exploration and navigation in southern Chile, the Kochifas family and Naviera y Turismos Skorpios S.A. have demonstrated a strong commitment to environmental protection, consistently striving to minimise the impact of their operations on the natural environment. Preserving the natural beauty of the landscape, protecting endemic species, minimising disturbance to wildlife, and ensuring the integrity of ecosystems in the areas where we operate are core principles of our environmental policy. These commitments guide our efforts to prevent any form of contamination during visits to pristine natural environments.

In the same vein, we have partnered with the National Forest Corporation (CONAF) to establish collaborative initiatives aimed at preserving the environment and ecosystems that may be affected by our operations. These initiatives include the construction of trails with small bridges to provide access to glaciers set back from the sea within the Bernardo O’Higgins National Park, as well as the delivery of educational talks focused on environmental stewardship in the areas where we operate. All of this is intended to ensure our presence is as non-intrusive as possible in natural environments.
