Islote Conejos

Islote Conejos, located in the municipality of Queilen on the Isla Grande de Chiloé, stands out for its extraordinary biodiversity. Its main attraction is a Magellanic penguin colony, with around 500 individuals that nest each summer, coexisting with endemic bird species such as herons, steamer ducks (quetros), oystercatchers, and migratory whimbrels that travel from Alaska.

In the surrounding waters, it is also common to observe southern and Chilean dolphins, sea lions, white-chinned petrels, cormorants, and—with some luck—the elusive Burmeister’s porpoise.

The Skorpios Cruises excursion is conducted using exploration boats, approaching the islet quietly to observe this bird sanctuary without landing, and lasts approximately one hour.
